How to wash you hair

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Generally speaking, most people LOVE getting their hair washed at the salon!

After all, there’s no way to replicate that epic head massage on your own.

However there’s a lot more to it than just a relaxing scalp massage, so here’s our step by step guide to getting the most out of your hair wash.

For the babes who average one to two hair washes per week, we recommend lather rinse repeat.

That’s two shampoos (thoroughly rinsing between) then finishing with your prescribed conditioner or treatment.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Here’s why

The first shampoo will cleanse your hair and scalp of any built-up oil, dry shampoo, products, outside pollutants and sweat.

Then the second shampoo allows the nourishing properties of that amazing product to work their magic. If you are using a repairing/hydrating shampoo this second shampoo is its prime time to shine.

Final step, conditioner or treatment.

Squeeze out excess moisture through mids and ends and apply a small amount of conditioner from your ears down.  After you have worked it through the ends, any product left on your hands can be put through the top, but don’t overload it as it will just weigh your hair down.

Thoroughly rinse your conditioner and you are all done.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_cta h2=”Tips”]

  • If you wash your hair less than once a week you may require three shampoos, especially if you use a lot of dry shampoo and other styling products.
  • If you wash your hair more than twice a week, we still recommend two shampoos, however you should be able to use less than a 5 cent piece size of shampoo.
  • Prescribed shampoo and conditioner/treatment is the professional product recommended to you by your stylist, after a full consultation and hair analysis.
  • In some cases, we will recommend your first and second shampoo be with two different shampoos. For example, toning shampoos for blondes would only be used for the second shampoo.
  • We also recommend doing an at-home treatment once a week, or if you are already only washing once a week, alternate conditioner one wash then treatment the next.
